Pretty House

Tucked in colored trees,
ere it became a meth lab,
twas a pretty house.

I don’t write this Hillbilly Haiku lightly. I know meth destroys rural communities just like crack houses destroyed many inner-cities.  I think the map above from the DEA makes that clear. It is the heart of the country that is being ripped out with this modern day plague.

I dedicate this poem to all of the families and those working in law-enforcement agencies and health-care that have to deal with this problem daily and pray for their safety and the addicted’s recovery.
