Our foundation recently sent financial support to the family of a former cavalry scout non-commissioned officer who had served with us in Germany. This NCO and his family had identified an elderly veteran neighbor living alone and in need of support in various ways, and responded by taking this veteran into their home and providing him with a second family. Our contribution to the family will help to defray some of the expenses they have voluntarily incurred and improve the quality of life for all concerned.
